About the author
The author, R. Eldon Bray, moved to Copperfield in 1935 when he was
one year old. He lived with his parents, two brothers, and sister on the Terrace
Heights section of Copperfield until 1952 when his parents moved to Copperton. He
attended and graduated from the Copperfield Grade School, Bingham High School, and
the University of Utah.
In 1958 he married Zona Marshall in Salt Lake City. They have five children,
all of whom are married, and thirty-one grandchildren.
After graduating from the University in 1959 he went to work as a geologist
for Kennecott at Bingham. He also worked for Kennecott at a molybdenum mine in British
Columbia and as an exploration geologist in several western states. In 1977 he left
Kennecott to work in the uranium industry. He moved to Grand Junction, Colorado
in 1979 to compile uranium ore reserves for the U.S. Department of Energy. Upon
his retirement he remained in Grand Junction where he now resides.
